Bert Convy was born on 23rd July 1933 in St. Louis, Missouri. His father’s name is Bernard Fleming, and his mother is Monica Convy. His full name is Bernard Whalen Convy, and he moved to Los Angeles with his family when he was merely seven years old. He started his education at the North Hollywood High School and was an all-around athlete at that time. When he was 17, he was offered a contract by the Philadelphia Phillies, and he played the Minor League baseball with the team for two years. In the late 1950s, he joined a vocal band known as ‘The Cheers’ and created a Top 10 hit song in the year 1955, which was called; ‘Black Denim Trousers and Motorcycle Boots. Bert completed his graduation from the UCLA School of Theatre, Film, and Television.

Career beginning
After playing for two seasons, Bert embarked on his career in the entertainment industry, and he first appeared in the Billy Barnes Revues in the year 1950 and 1960. He worked in numerous TV shows, films, and other projects such as Susan Slade by Warner Bros, Fiddler on the Roof, The Impossible Years, etc. He also worked in the Love of life, in which he played the role of Glenn Hamilton, who was a rapist. He got major popularity in the entertainment world when he started appearing as a panelist on different game shows such as Match Game, To Tell the Truth, What’s My Line? etc.
Later, he became the host for few game shows, which included the Tattletales, the Fourth season of ‘Password.’ He even received an Emmy Award for the Best Host in the year 1977 for Tattletales. In the year 1956, he changed his profession and became a full-time actor, and worked in numerous shows and movies. One of the most recognized movies he did was ‘Semi-tough,’ which was released in 1977.

Bert Convy married twice as first he married Anne Anderson in 1959, but they got separated in 1991. Then, he married Catherine Hills, but she died after five months of marriage.
