Early life
Bert Jones was born Bertram Hays Jones on 7th September 1951 in Ruston, Louisiana. He went to the LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and played for the LSU Tigers Football Team. After starting college, he started performing quite amazingly in the sport and became one of the best players in his college. In the year 1971, he had nine touchdowns and threw for more than 945 yards. LSU fans want him to handle some other position, but he was forced to play as a quarterback because of the head coach of their team.
One of the biggest moments of his college career when he took the last-second win for his team in the LESU vs. Ole Miss Game in 1972. Some people believe there were some issues with the clock, which gave Bert four extra seconds to complete the touchdown and get the victory for his team.
