Bill Parcells is a big name in the American football world. Early life
Bill was born Duane Charles ‘Bill’ Parcells on 22nd August 1941 in Englewood, New Jersey. He lived in Hasbrouck Heights and spent the initial years of his life there. His mother was a housewife, and his father played as a quarterback for the Georgetown University. Bill was always interested in athletics in his teenage and his massive height of 6’2″ made him stood out in almost every sport. Career beginning
After completing high school, Bill went to the Colgate University, where he was given an offer by the Philadelphia Phillies, but his father didn’t let him accept it as he wanted him to focus on his studies. Later, he got shifted to the University of Wichita and started playing linebacker. Soon, he was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the seventh round but could play any game as the team released him before that. When his playing days were about to end, he decided to choose football as a career and became an assistant coach at the Hastings. Bill worked with several universities as a football coach, but his professional coaching career started in 1979 when he became the defensive coordinator for the New York Giants, but soon he resigned from the job.
In the year 1980, he came back to football and started working as linebackers coach for the New England Patriots. Throughout his career, he lost only two seasons and made the Giants win two super bowl titles. He retired after the 1990 season due to some health-related problems.

Bill Parcells married Judith Goss in 1962, and they stayed together for over 40 years but got divorced in 2002. The divorce was their mutual decision, and it was finalized on paper in January 2002.
