Billy Zandt is an American actor and playwright as well as an author who wrote a best-selling TV memoir; ‘Get in the Car, Jane’. He has been seen in a wide number of series, plays and movies. He is also known for producing several TV shows and productions such as The Wayans Bros. Career beginning
Billy started his acting career in 1978 from the movie; ‘Jaw 2’. He played the role of an alien Starfleet in the famous movie; ‘Star-Trek: The Motion Picture. He also appeared in some TV series such as ‘Skag’ in 1980. He worked in ‘Taps’ in 1981, and after that, he left acting and started focusing on writing for TV shows and series. His first work as a writer and story editor was for ‘Newhart’, which was aired from 1988 to 1989 and was a massive hit. In 1989, he came back to acting and played the role of Harold in ‘Anything but Love’. However, he left the show in the second season.
He and Jane Milmore has been writing plays till now. He also wrote ‘Drop Dead!’, ‘Silent Laughter’ and ‘You’ve Got Hate Mail. They both wrote over 21 plays together, and most of them were quite successful. He got nominated for the Emmy Award for the TV show’ ‘I Love Lucy: The Very First Show’ and also won an award in the People’s Choice category.

The popular musician-actor Steven Van Zandt is a half-brother to Billy and also the brother-in-law to his wife. Billy is married to Adrienne Barbeau, who is also an actress. They both met in 1991 for the first time during the premiere of Van Zandt’s play and got hitched on December 31, 1992. They got divorced in 2018 and have two twins named; Walker and William. After two years of his divorce, he started seeing Teresa Ganzel, and they have been together since. Recently, in 2020 they announced their engagement.
