Walter Bruce Willis is a Hollywoodmovie artist, producer, and vocalist. He started his career with thecomedy-drama show ‘Moonlighting’ from 1985 to 1989. Since then, he has acted in more than 70 movies. The ‘Die Hard’ series from 1988 to 2013 in which he plays John McClaneis quite noteworthy. His other notable movies include ‘The Last Boy Scout’ in 1991, ‘The Fifth Element’ in 1997,‘Pulp Fiction’ in 1994, ‘Armageddon’ in 1998, ‘The Sixth Sense’ in 1999, ‘Red’ in 2010, ‘Glass’ in 2019, ‘The Expendables 2’ in 2012, etc.
In 1987, he made his first singing album with ‘The Return of Bruno’. Thereafter, two more albums were made in 1989 and subsequently in 2001. In 2015, the actor also debuted on the Broadway circuit with ‘Misery’.
Bruce Willis was born in Germany on 19thMarch 1955. His mother is a German while his father is an American.The family moved to the U.S. when he was two years of age. He went to the ‘Penns Grove High School’ and laterbecame president of its student council.After passing secondary school in 1973, he worked in the Salem Nuclear Power Plant as a security guard and moved crew members in New Jersey. He also served as a private agent and then went for acting.
He did a Drama Course at the ‘Montclair State University’, where he appeared in the “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof”. In 1977, he left the school and went to New York.He worked there as a barkeeper at ‘Kamikaze’. While in New York, he worked in ‘The Verdict’ in 1982. He later went to California and featured in anepisode of the TV serial‘Miami Vice’.
He was a guest entertainer in the first episode of ‘The Twilight Zone’ – ‘Shatterday’. In 1985, from amongst 3,000 participants, he got the role of David Addison Jr. for the TV program, ‘Moonlighting’.His role in ‘Moonlighting’helped himto build up a comedian image.
Willis got his first lead character in a feature film in the 1987 movie, ‘Blind Date’. However, his action movie, ‘Die Hard’ (1988) shot him to fame and gave him cult status. He did most action sequenceson his own in the movie, and it earned $138,708,852 globally.
Thereafter, he came up with ‘Die Hard 2’ in 1990 and then ‘Die Hard intensely’ in 1995. These three movies of the ‘Die Hard’franchise earned more than $700 million globally and helped Willis to become one of the best action heroes of Hollywood.
However, in the mid-90s, only‘Armageddon’ directed by Michael Baydid well as it was the highest-earningmovie of 1998,globally.
His total asset is around $200 million. From acting, he earned around $100 million dollarswhile the remaining comes from his other interests. For his acting skills in ‘The Sixth Sense’, he reportedly received a compensation of $14 million.
Willis has properties in Los Angeles, Manhattan, and New Jersey. He sold one of his properties for $27 million. He helped establish Planet Hollywood in Idaho with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone in 1991.
Willis has openly sold ‘Girl Scout cookies’ in 2002 for the US military.
In 2019, a Lego form of Willis was there in the movie, ‘The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part’, and he even dubbed for it.
