His Early Life

DaBaby was born on 22 December 1991 in Ohio. He spent the early years of his life in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1999. He was a huge fan of 50 Cent, Lil Wayne and Eminem since his childhood and grew up listening to their songs. He graduated from Vance High School in 2010 and further attended the University of North Carolina to complete studies. He didn’t complete his studies at University at Greensboro and only went to university because of his parents.

DaBaby was fond of music since his childhood, but he started to take music sincerely in mid-2014-2015. He started his career in 2015 by releasing his first debut mixtape Nonfiction. DaBaby is also known as Baby Jesus, and he started performing as Baby Jesus, which distracted thousands of people. He got his first big break when he signed work with Arnold Taylor. Taylor was the president of Music Group Label of South Coast, and he saw Baby Jesus performing in North Carolina while launching his label.

In 2009, DaBaby started his imprint label named Billion Dollar Baby Entertainment and released his album Baby on Baby through Interscope Records. He got featured on plenty of hit songs in 2019 that includes Quality Control’s Baby and Megan Thee Stallion’s Cash Shit. In 2019, DaBaby had 22 entries on Billboard Hot 100, which is the highest among all artists.

DaBaby has been nominated for over 13 awards and won 5 awards as of 2020. He won ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Music Awards for his album “Cash Shit,” “Baby Sitter,” and “Suge.” In 2020, he was nominated for Video of the Year, Album of the Year, Viewer’s Choice Award, and Best Male Hip Hop Artist, amongst which he won the BET Awards for Best Male Hip Hop Artist.

DaBaby was also nominated for Best Hip Hop Video, Hot Ticket Performer, and Best New Hip Hop Artist and won BET Hip Hop Awards in 2019. In 2020, he was nominated for Grammy Awards for his debut “Suge” for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance. His debut “Suge” also made him nominated for MTV Video Music Awards.
