Early life
Gabby’s full name is Gabrielle Christina Victoria Douglas, and she was born in Virginia, on 31st December 1995. Her mother’s name is Natalie Hawkins-Douglas, and her father’s name is Timothy Douglas. She has one elder brother and two elder sisters named Johnathan, Arielle, and Joyelle, respectively. She started doing gymnastics where she was merely six years old after her mother enrolled her in a class. When she turned eight, she had already won the Level 4 gymnastics title at Virginia State Championships held in 2004.
Later she moved to Des Moines and started training with Liang Chow. Gabby stayed in Virginia with Missy and Travis Parton. She faced a lot of issues as she was separated from her family.

Career beginning
Douglas started her career at the 2008 US Classic held in Houston, Texas. She got the 10th position there in the all-around rankings. Then she participated in the 2008 Visa Championships in Boston and got the 16th Rank. That year, she didn’t a place in the Junior Women’s National Team. The year 2009 was not good for her; she got the growth plate of her wrist fractured, which made her miss the Covergirl US Classic in 2009. However, she participated in the Visa Championships in Dallas, Texas but couldn’t perform her full routine due to the Injury.
In the year 2010, She got a silver medal on the balance beam at the U.S. Junior Championships and got the 4th all-around position. She got the 8thposition on the floor exercise and the same all-around Rank on Vault. After that, she started her senior career and got numerous achievements which made her one of the biggest names in the sport.
Personal Life
In the year 2012, Gabby launched her autobiography, Grace, Gold, and Glory: My Leap of Faith. Two years later, a TV movie based on her life aired and was titled; ‘The Gabby Douglas Story. In 2016, another TV reality show about Gabby and her family was aired on the Oxygen Channel. It was titled; ‘Douglas Family Gold.
