John Leguizamo was brought up in this world on 22nd July of 1960. He was born in Bogota, which is situated in Colombia. He is the son of Luz Marina Pelaez and Alberto Rudolfo Leguizamo. His father was too a film director and studied at Cinecitta, but due to his poor financial conditions, he eventually dropped out. His family moved to New York City when he was a child. He was the first Latino child in their neighbourhood who took his productive acting career. He attended the Joseph Pulitzer Middle School. Later, He shifted from Joseph Pulitzer Middle School to Murry Bergtraum High School.

He first started his career as a stand-up comedy on the New York Nightclub Circuit in 1984. He first made his television debut with a small role in Miami Vice in 1986. He has done various other functions, such as a friend of Madonna’s boyfriend in her video named Borderline. He has also done different other movies such as Mixed Blood in the year 1985, Die Hard2 in the year 1990, Hangin’ with the Homeboys in the year 1991, Casualties of War in the year 1989, and many more. He made his first film debut with Whispers in the Dark by portraying the role of John Castillo. He was later offered the lead role as Luigi in the film named Super Mario Bros. He gained a lot of popularity through this role. This role gave him many other opportunities by providing many roles such as he played the prominent role in Brian De Palma’s Carlito Way by portraying the role of Carlito Brigante’s nemesis Benny Blanco. John Leguizamo tied her knot with actress Yelba Osorio in 1994, but things did not go well, and they divorced in 1996, two years after their marriage. He later then married a customer on Carlito’s Way. They had two children named Allegra Sky Leguizamo- his daughter, and Ryder Lee Lucas Leguizamo- his son. They both were born in Manhattan. In 2018, he received an Honorary Degree from Marymount Manhattan College.
