Early life
Khabib is Russian, who was born in the village, Sildi. He was born on September 20th, 1988. He had one elder brother and a younger sister. After a few years, his entire family moved to Kirovaul. They had a 2-story house, in which his father renovated the ground floor area as a ‘gym.’ Being a kid, Khabib was fascinated to look at students taking gym practice, and he was amazed to see their muscle buildings. This made his interest to grow towards martial arts.
He began to practice wrestling at the age of 8. In his 12th year, his family moved to Makhachkala, where he took the training of wrestling and Jude from his father, Abdulmanap. His excellence in the wrestling field made UFC sign a contract with a six-fight tournament. His first UC deal was FX1, followed by UFC 148, 7, 160, and lots, in which Khabib had established him as the undefeatable and strong UFC champion. During his fight with Thiago Tavares in UFC FX7, Khabib won the first round, but his opponent was suspicious for drug usage, and hence Tavares was suspended for nine months from UFC.
In September 2017, Khabib had made UFC 178 contract with Donald Cerrone as the opponent. But as Khabib’s knee was severely injured, he was replaced by John Makdessi.
