Loretta Lynn was born in 1932 on 14th April in Kentucky. She is the second child of Melvin Theodore and Clara Marie. His father was a subsistence farmer and a coal miner. She is of Cherokee and Irish descent, and her parents give her name after the famous film star named Loretta Young. 

Her father suffered from black lung diseases and diet when he was 52. Loretta was 15 years old when she married Oliver Vanetta “Doolittle” Lynn, and his husband was also nicknamed “Mooney,” “Doolittle,” or “Doo.”

Career Beginnings

After her marriage, Lynn’s happiness inspired her to songwriting, and his husband gifted her Harmony guitar worth $17. She started learning an instrument on her own and improved herself in guitar playing. His husband encouraged her a lot, and after a few years, she started her band along with the Trailblazers and Loretta.

Personal Life

Loretta is married to Doolittle “Mooney” Lynn and has six children named Clara Marie “Cissie” Lynn, Ernest Ray “Ernie,” Jack Benny Lynn, Betty Sue Lynn, and Patsy Eileen Lynn and Peggy Jean (twin daughters of the sister of Lynn). Loretta’s son named Jack Benny Lynn, expired in 1984 at the age of 34 when he was trying to trap the Duck River in Hurricane Mills in Tennessee.

Lynn’s daughter, Betty Sue, had health issues and was suffering from emphysema, and died at 64 in Hurricane Mills. After a few years, twins of her were born named Patsy and Peggy was born, and at the age of 34, Lynn became a grandmother. Lynn’s husband died in 1996 at the age of 69. She released her autobiography in 2002 named Still Woman Enough and told in an interview that her husband cheated on her and even left her for one when she was giving birth to their baby.

The couple fought frequently, but Lynn also said that his husband never hit her, but their love story was the hardest one.
