Their breakout album was released in 1999, and it was produced with the intent to introduce bachata music to the top charts by combining it with R&B and Hip Hop. Their song, Obsesion, was a considerable success in several countries, and they also topped Germany, Italy, and French charts. Aventura also ended up releasing five studio albums to spawn several top ten hits such as CuandoVolveras, UnBeso, Los Infieles, Amor de Madre, Por un Segundo, El Perdeor, and Dile Al Amor among others. The Band also found an invitation to perform at the White House for the forty-fourth president of the USA, Barack Obama.

Aventura decided to go separate paths in 2011, and Romeo initially said that the members took a small break to focus on independent projects.
