In the college days, Davis participated for his first season at the University of Kentucky when he came to be known as the “Consensus National Player of the Year” and “first-team All-American Player.” He got honored with NABC Defensive Player of the Year, Pete Newell Big Man, and USBWA National Freshman of the Year awards. Davis used blocks in leading NCAA and made the NCAA Division I and Southeastern Conference one season freshman shots blocked records. He took Kentucky at the National level of Championship. In the NCAA Tournament, he was under glam light as the “most outstanding tournament player.” 

After a single season, Davis greets goodbye to his college to move ahead of his NBA journey. In 2012, he got drafted as the overall first pick for the NBA draft by New Orleans Hornets (old name) or New Orleans Pelicans (new name) and got a selection in the Olympics 2012. When his season as a rookie was over, he got referred to All-Rookie NBA first team. For the first time, he achieved an “All-Star” recognition in the next season.
