Marla is originally from Georgia, and her other used to be a model and homemaker. Her father used to be a real estate developer named Stanley Edward Maples and worked part-time as a singer, commissioner, and songwriter. She has attended Northwest Whitfield High, and she used to serve as a secretary while playing basketball. She was tagged as a homecoming queen for a year during her senior year, and then she returned for the crown after ten years. After her graduation, she achieved success in beauty pageants and also some small-scale contests.
