Career Beginnings
Volek’s professional career began in 2000 when he got signed by Tennessee Titans by the free agency after any good team did not select him in the 2000 NFL Draft. His actions were little during the rookie season as he completed none of his three passes with no interceptions and no touchdowns. Because of his small amount of play, he was not selected by any teams and wasn’t seen on the field in the 2003 season where he wanted to make a good name for himself and be counted in one of the talented backup quarterbacks of the National Football League.
He became the fourth quarterback in the history of the NFL in 2004 and few others, including Phil Simms, Dan Marino, and Dan Fouts. In 2004, an announcement was made that he would be starting quarterback for the season for Titans and replace Steve McNair, who got injured in the game. The injuries of McNair were more, and they required time to heal properly, and Vole backed him in next season, also starting with one game. McNair was the one who provided the real opportunity to Volek to start the position. In 2006, Jeff Fisher, the coach, announced that Titans signed Kerry Collins to be the competitor, Volek.
In 2006, Volek was signed by the San Diego Chargers to play the sixth round in the 2007 NFL Draft. The coach of Jeff Fisher said that Volek was very untruthful with him with the head coach and to others. During the AFC Divisional Playoff game in 2008 against Indianapolis Colts, Volek replaced Philip Rivers. In 2008, Volek signed a contract with San Diego for three years, and in 2011, he signed a contract of two years with Chargers. Volek announced his retirement on News Talk Radio Show in 2012. He was released in 2012 on 16th March.
