Maynard James Keenan is an American musician, actor, winemaker, singer, record producer, artist, singer, and martial artist. He is popular as a primary lyricist and lead singer of the band Tool. Along with the band Tool, Keenan released the most popular studio albums. He has worked with Puscifer, A Perfect Circle, and rock band Tool.
James Keenan is from Ohio and completed his school and graduation from Michigan. After completing his graduation, he joined Army and then joined Kendall College of Art and Design of Michigan. In 1988, he then moved to Los Angeles to start his career in construction and interior design. Keenan then formed a rock band with Adam Jones named Tool.

Maynard James Keenan was born on 17th April 1964 in Ravenna. He is the only son of Micheal Loren Keenan and Judith Marie. Keenan is of both Italian and Irish descent. His parents got divorced, and his mother remarried to another man and brought Keenan to an “ingenious and prejudiced household,” where Keenan’s creativity and intelligence were muffled.
When Keenan was 11 years old, his mother had a ruptured cerebral aneurysm due to which she suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage. His mother convinced him to live along with his father and move to Scottville with him. Keenan stated that deciding to move with his father was the best decision.

Career Beginnings
After completing his studies, he discovered his interest in air and therefore joined Kendall College of Art and Design of Michigan. He then moved to Massachusetts, where he practiced interior design for a pet store. Keenan then moved to Los Angeles for a job but was fired. He then started to work in set construction.
He wrote his first single, “Sober,” which got successful and then recorded and performed live with Green Jello with a rock band Tool. Keenan was a huge fan of Adam Jones in his college days, and after shifting to Los Angeles, he met Adam Jones. He was so impressed with the vocals of Keenan and advised him to form a band with him. That was the time when Tool was launched in 1990. Keenan was the lead singer, Jones was the guitarist, the bassist was Paul D’Amour, and the drummer was Danny Carey.

Maynard James Kennan has a son named Devo. His son was a singer who sang as backing vocals and has sung on the famous “A Perfect Circle’s Thirteenth Step” and was credited as a cellist on the song Keep Telling Myself It’s Alright by Ashes Divide.

In 2010, the news came that Keenan had a girlfriend, and he proposed him for a marriage named Lei Li. The couple got married, and his wife gave birth to Lei Li Agostina Maria.
