Britney Spears, the ‘Princess of Pop’, is amusician, vocalist, and an artist of the US. Her genre ofpopmusic is very refreshing, and that is why, during the late 90s, her music made a mark. She has done a lot of stage appearances and TV shows also.In 1997, she started working with the Jive Records and produced some superb numbers. Following a lot of publicized individual struggles and undesirable public conduct starting in 2006, Spears’ career suffered. She was born in McComb, Mississippi in December 1981. She is the second offspring of James Parnell Spears and Lynne Irene Bridges. The area where the family lived was a Bible Belt in which evangelical Protestantism had a strong influence. When young, she was baptized and sang for a congregation choir.
At three years of age, she started taking dance lessons in her old neighbourhoodand was chosen for a solo performance at the yearly presentation. Thus, she made her stage debut at the age of fiveyears during her kindergarten days.
At eight years of age, her mother took her to Atlanta for the audition of ‘The Mickey Mouse Club’. The casting director dismissed her there for being too young but introduced them to a New York talent agent, Nancy Carson. She was moved with Britney’s talent and recommended her to join the ‘Professional Performing Arts School’ in New York. Soon after, she and her mother moved to New York.
Britney was recruited for her first job as the understudy for the lead role in the Off-Broadway melodic, ‘Ruthless!’ She has also participated in the TV series, ‘Star Search’, and has done many ads. However, initially, she met four recording companies, and only Jive Records assigned her work. Thereafter, she worked with producer Eric Foster White for a month and then travelled to Stockholm for recording her first album in April 1998.
Her initial two albums in 1999 and 2000 were worldwide hits and catapulted her to the top woman pop starof all time. The 2001 album, ‘Britney’, and the 2003 album, ‘In the Zone’ had more mature themes. She also made her debut in movies with ‘Crossroads’ in 2002.She came back to her best with the albums, ‘Circus’ in 2008 and ‘Femme Fatale’ in 2011.
The 2013 album, ‘Britney Jean’ and the album ‘Glory’ in 2016 also did well. Her albums have sold more than 100 million copies globally.
